Here are some commonly asked questions and answers. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to send me a message via the contact page.
How do I reserve you for my wedding day?
The first step in booking your date is scheduling a short call to chat about the details regarding you and your group (if you have one) and what you have planned for your wedding day. Send me a message via the contact page to set up a time that works best for you. You can find information more information on this page.
Do you require a deposit to book the date?
Yes, I require a deposit to secure your date. After we chat and I have the details about you and your group (if you have one), I will send you a brochure with all of the information re pricing and how to send your deposit to secure the date. I do not hold any dates without a deposit.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my wedding after I’ve paid the deposit?
If you for any reason need to reschedule your date, the deposit and all agreed upon pricing will be transferred to your new date (no later than 1 year after the original date) subject to my availability. If your new date is more than 1 year from the original date, my current rates and travel fees will apply. If you choose a date that I’m already booked, you forfeit your deposit. If you need to cancel your wedding for any reason whatsoever, you forfeit your deposit.
Can you accommodate a large group?
Absolutely! Depending on your wedding day schedule I can do up 6-7 make-ups on my own. If you will have more than 6 people, we will book an additional make-up artist from my team. This will require an additional deposit and travel fees depending on your location.
Where can I see current photos of your work?
I’d love to say that this website is always up-to-date with my current work, but unfortunately time doesn’t always permit that. I am very active on Instagram and post a good majority of my work there.
Where can I read reviews from past clients?
I am so thankful for the amazing clients that have taken the time to leave reviews about their experiences with me on Wedding Wire.
Is there anything I should keep in mind when deciding on my make-up look?
Definitely. Please keep in mind that Costa Rica is a tropical climate, meaning hot and humid. If you normally wear heavy face foundation, this may be a good time to start experimenting with how you feel about using lighter looks. The more your skin can breathe on the wedding day, the better. We can chat more about what this means for you on our initial call.
Can you come to my hotel/condo for my trial and/or wedding?
Yes of course!
How long will my appointment take on my wedding day?
I schedule 1 hour per person for wedding day make-up.
Should I wear false eyelashes?
I 10000% recommend you do, but really, it’s up to you. However, unless you are blessed with really great lush lashes (and some of you lucky ladies are!!), using false lashes really does make the eyes “pop” in photos. It just adds a little something extra. False lashes don’t have to be dramatic, which is what many people envision when they think of them. They can be a few little individual ones or some very natural strips lashes. All of the styles I work with are lightweight and natural looking. Chances are, most of the photos of wedding make-up that you’ve been admiring, have the models wearing false lashes. The cost of lashes is included in the price of make-up. There is no discount on the price of make-up if you bring your own lashes, decide not to use lashes or if you have lash extensions.
Should I book a trial session?
I highly recommend a trial session, especially if you are planning on doing your make-up in a way you’ve never done or don’t usually wear any make-up. At your trial, I can get to know you better and gain experience working with your individual make-up looks. This way, when your wedding day arrives, you can sit back, be pampered and have the confidence that everything will turn out as you envision. I prefer to book the trial session the afternoon of your welcome/rehearsal dinner. This gives us a chance to meet ahead of the wedding date and pin down your look, plus then you’re all dolled up for both events.
How should I prepare for my trial?
-Bring photos of the make-up you have in mind.
-Bring any special make-up that you want to use, including the lipstick you’d like to use for the wedding day.
-Arrive with a clean face (taking special care to remove any residual mascara).
-Apply your moisturizer at least 1 hour before.
How long does the trial last?
A trial session is usually around 1 – 1.5 hours. Additional time isn’t usually necessary but in the event we need extra time, there is a $80 fee per hour or any part thereof after 2 hours.
What make-up products do you use?
I use a variety of brands that I've found to be tried and true in Costa Rica's hot/humid climate. My kit includes products from Fenty, Bare Minerals, Urban Decay, Benefit, Dior, Morphe, and Make-Up Forever - as well as others. I find these products to be long-wearing, lightweight and photograph beautifully. However, if you have a particular brand of cosmetics that you prefer to use, feel free to bring those with you to your appointment(s). We can chat about if they are a good fit for the Costa Rican climate and your wedding make-up goals.
